On February 15th, 12 brothers left Bowling Green, Kentucky and drove down to Atlanta, Georgia to attend the Carlson Leadership Academy, a yearly event SigEp hosts. The conference kicked off February 15th and ended February 16th.
The conference was held in the Marriott Marquis hotel where we slept and consisted of group sessions that taught each person how to become a leader inside of their role in the chapter. The sessions began on Friday night. We received great sleep that Friday night to prepare us for a long Saturday where we would attend sessions from 8:00 A.M. until 9:30 P.M.
One interesting thing about the conference is the different paths you can take. There is a path for each executive board position and also upcoming chapter leader paths as well. The brothers who attended the conference have grown closer to one another and the other chapters that attended the conference. We are excited to bring all of the great information and lessons we learned at the conference back to our chapter.
We are proud of brother Cameron Buckman who was 1 of 60 men that received the Hickman Scholar Award, which pays for this weekend.
Overall, it was a great weekend and we are excited for the remainder of this semester!
