This past week was homecoming at Western Kentucky University. For the Homecoming competitions our chapter was paired up with the lovely women of Alpha Xi Delta and Sigma Alpha. Over the course of a week we put in many hours of hard work to make an incredible float for the annual homecoming parade put on for the city of Bowling Green. Our hard work on the float lead to us placing 2nd in the float competition this year. More importantly, it was a very fun time for all of our brothers to walk with the float and participate in a parade for the community.
After the parade on Friday, we kicked off our alumni activities with an alumni dinner for some of the alums who had already made it to town at the local restaurant Mariah’s. We had a good time at dinner chatting with alumni and sharing some of our stories of our favorite times in SigEp. We are also very gracious for Mariah’s hosting us once again. On Saturday morning, we also held our annual senior smoker. For our senior smoker we invite all of our alumni and our brothers who are seniors to come have some breakfast and cigars before heading to the homecoming tailgate. We hold this event for our seniors to have a chance to talk with the alumni to network and get advice for what they should do after college. This year was slightly different because this is usually an event that happens in the house lot, and our house is currently being constructed, but we were able to give our alumni and seniors tours through the house to see what it will look like when it is completed.
